Scratch another item off the bucket list. I flew myself and three buddies down to Key West a few weeks ago for some scuba diving and relaxation. Going down to the keys to dive was one of the big motivators during the build and finally being able to have done it was great! We went lobstering but they were pretty sparse. I managed to catch two lobsters but the second one we caught we realized it had eggs and so I released it. We rented a 22' center console boat for the day so we were able to boat around all day and go wherever we wanted. The trip back we faced some storm cells ahead and managed to cut through a clear spot thanks in part to the on-board XM weather and being able to see out the window and match what we saw on the radar screen. It was a great trip and the plane performed nicely. Highlight of the flight was probably getting cleared through naval airspace at Key West and being notified 'Traffic 12 o'clock opposite direction two F-18's'. I said 'roger'. What else can you say? lol. Seconds later they blasted by as they turned off our right wing a thousand feet or so above us. It was definitely cool.
