Kennedy Space Center & Amelia Island

Our friends, the Rettigs and the Deganhards, invited us to enjoy time with them down in Florida recently and so we joined them for a great adventure. We had done a similar trip with them 2 years ago and it was nice to spend time on the beach and in the area relaxing and hanging out. Last time one of my favorite outings was to the Okefenokee Swamp and this year was Kennedy Space Center.

We played games together, ate great meals, and enjoyed the company of everyone. We even got some nice beautiful flying done up the coast! We started the adventure from departing right out of our back yard at GA80 and flew into Titusville (KTIX). After enjoying the entire day at Kennedy Space Center we flew over to Ormond Beach, where we had sea food for dinner and stayed the night in a hotel. The next day we flew up the coast to Amelia Island (KFHB) and Mike's son, Robbie (10) got stick time the whole way there and loved it!

We went kayaking one morning to Cumberland Island area where we saw wild horses, various critters like crabs and fish, and enjoyed walking around the island. The weather was great the whole time and didnt need to put the IFR ticket to hard work on this trip. We had a nice easy flight home and look forward to the next adventure!
